Library Community Agreements

Visiting the Library

• Please bring a green pass if you would like to come to the library during class or advisory time.

• Everyone is welcome during lunch time, before school, and after school every day of the week, no pass needed.

• Please sign in to the left of the entrance every time you enter the library, regardless of the time of day. We use this to see how popular the space is.

• If the library door is closed, the library is closed due to staff meetings or classroom support.

Circulation (BDEA)

• The BDEA Library check out policy follows the BPL library policy - books may be checked out for 21 days at a time, with automatic renewal up to 2 times.

• There are no fees for overdue or lost books. If you lose a book, you do not need to pay a fine or replace it. You may choose to replace the book if you would like to, and you will not be asked to pay a fine.

• You may return BPL and BDEA Library books to the BDEA Library. Notify Ms. Rickert if you are returning a BPL material so she can make sure to get it back ASAP!

Computers and Other Materials

• There are 2 desktops available in the library for student and staff use.

• There is a B/W printer available for student use at any time. This printer can be accessed through the 2 desktops. There is also a color printer; if you need to print something in color, please email it to Ms. Rickert (crickert@bostonpublicschools.org) so that she can print it for you!

• We have headphones, a kettle with tea/hot chocolate, games, and pens/pencils here for student and staff use.
