Here are some example lessons I've taught in the past, here at BDEA and at other schools. Any and all of these can be updated to fit your class.

Developing a Research Question using the QFT (Google Slides)
This is a lesson my partner librarian and I created, based on the Question Formulation Technique by the Right Question Institute. We used this lesson to help a biology class create research questions for a project. This can be used for lots of different topics, like humanities and math as well!
Library Databases + Keywords (Google Slides)
A short lesson to support students with accessing the library databases, navigate them using keyword searching, and introduce a class period of research.
Source Evaluation (Google Slides)
A short, engaging lesson based on a lesson by my partner librarian at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. This is a fun, engaging lesson about the 3 checks. It teaches students how to evaluate sources found online.
Social Media Radicalization (Google Slides)
This is a lesson on social media radicalization, created for an event at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School last year. This lesson is focused on the ways in which social media influencers might use their platform to "radicalize" their viewers, particularly pre-teens and teens.
Plagiarism Lesson (Google Slides)
This lesson was developed for a 9th grade English class that had been using ChatGPT for their English papers. This is a longer, more robust lesson that supports students with understanding the ways in which they could accidently plagiarize, as well as how to prevent this.
Handout to go with it -- developed from a handout created by my librarian colleague from CRLS.
Sora Lesson (Google Slides)
In this short lesson, I walk students through signing into Sora on their ChromeBooks, as well as how to navigate the website.
Here is an additional resource, a webpage on this site, that shows how to log into Sora using the app.
Artificial Intelligence: An Overview (Google Slides)
A short slideshow about Artificial Intelligence (AI), meant as a quick overview of the topic for educators. Developed from a slideshow by Bonnie McBride, Fenway Librarian, and 2 presentations by Phil Remaker, my father-in-law and tech expert in Silicon Valley.
Library Orientation (Google Slides)
This is a general library overview - it goes over lots of the library resources we have here at BDEA. This is a good lesson to start a semester off with, or for the BDEA orientation groups to experience.
