I got a B.S. degree in electronic materials engineering (1988) and M.S. (1990) and Ph.D.(2001) in semiconductor devices, all from Kwangwoon University in seoul, korea. As a postdoctoral researcher at Korea University's BK21 Information Technology, I participated in nanomaterial synthesis research including GaN, Ga2O3, and ZnO nanowires. Prior to this, in 1990, as a senior engineer at the KEC Research and Development Center, I served as the team leader of the silicon pressure sensor development based on MEMS technology. I have also been involved in the development of logic CMOS, analog CMOS, and high speed logic BiCMOS devices for 10 years. Since september 2001, I have been working as a professor in the department of electronic engineering at Jinju National University. In 2011, it changed its name to Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology and merged with Gyeongsang National University in 2021. I have visited the D. K. Schroder Lab of Arizona State University in Tempe, USA in 2007-2008 and the Irina Grauer Lab of Aix-Marseille University in Marseille, France in 2017. My research interests include non-volatile memories such as charge-trapping flash memory based on polysilicon/oxide/nitride/oxide/silicon (SONOS) structures and single-electron memory using carrier traps in silicon nitride layers. I am currently also studying SMPS and AC drivers for LED lighting systems.
