Students will be required to be self-motivated and proactive to maximise their learning opportunities.
Identify a safe, comfortable space in your home where you can work effectively and successfully.
Monitor communications from teachers - check-in and keep up to date.
Personal bests - just like at school, students should set goals and do their best to achieve them.
Finish work on time, every time.
Abide by the College's Student Code of Conduct.
Seek out and communicate with school staff as different needs arise.
Be respectful and nice to your parents.
Wake up with enough time to get ready and have breakfast before 8.30am.
Be ready to start your online classes on time.
Know what classes you have as per your timetable so you are prepared to start on time.
Set yourself up in a quiet area, at a desk or table and try and limit distractions.
Have your books, notepads and pen or pencil handy.
Remember you will be live conferencing. Be dressed appropriately by wearing your school uniform or smart casual clothes for live chats (studies show an increase in participation and engagement when wearing uniform).
Be respectful and understand online behaviours and its effects. Talk to your teachers online how you would in class.
Have your water bottle handy.
During breaks, stretch your legs and get some fresh air.
Exercise regularly each day.
Eat healthy food. Keep to a regular eating schedule
Teachers will be sharing with you what assessment needs to be completed.

MS & SS this will be through TASS.
Students are not permitted to record, transmit or distribute, any synchronous or asynchronous instruction in any form distributed from the College without permission, including but not limited to audio, video or images. Students must maintain the security of their device and ensure that no other individuals or parties access the device to perform these functions.
Students, where possible, will message the staff member using the POSTS, chat or email, at the start of each timetabled lesson. In group meetings, students must make sure that at least one other student is present. (The other attendees must be visible on the Teams Screen at all times).
Students are only permitted to join a teacher-initiated online group meeting for live synchronous teaching, when there is one other student present.
In the event that a student notices that there are no other students in a group meeting, they must inform the staff member that this is the case. They must then leave the online meeting.
Students may only communicate via the Post Section, chat or email with the teacher or other students, about educational matters using appropriate and respectful language.
Students are expected to comply with the BCC Student Digital Policy.
Student engagement and communication will be expected to meet the same high standards as face to face interactions would at school. This includes being polite and respectful to peers and Staff Members during an online meeting.
Students are not to use Teams to video or audio call other students. There are many private social media services (Facetime etc.) for that purpose. Student interactions in Teams – via text, audio or video – are logged and monitored by Staff Members.
Any students that are in breach of any of the above will be contacted by their teacher to discuss possible consequences and parents will be notified.
