If possible, participants are requested to bring your own canoes, PFDs and paddles. If concerned about security, you should bring a cable and lock for your canoe. If you are willing to loan out your canoe when you do not need it, that will be greatly appreciated. This would be arranged between the owner and the borrower on the day and facilitated by the beachfront volunteers.
There will be a selection of tandem canoes, PFDs, and paddles kindly donated by individuals and local retailers for the use by event paddlers over the weekend. These boats will be intended initially for paddlers who do not yet own a boat or are travelling from a distance and cannot bring a boat.
For specialty paddling workshops (such as Big Boat, Marathon, Canoe Sailing, etc. we will have some boats provided, but please bring your own specialty canoe if you have one and plan on attending one of these sessions.
If you want to unload a boat when you arrive, go to the waterfront and identify yourself to the beachfront volunteers. They will assist as to where to store your unloaded boat(s) and afterwards you will be directed to park your vehicle in the upper parking lot. You may bring a cable lock to secure your boat if you wish, however we have not experienced any theft of boats in the past.
Do you have more boats than you do children? Want to help us out bottoms in bucket seats and are willing to transport it to the conference when you attend? Please leave a note in your registration form indicating that you are willing to lend a boat for use at the conference. If you have access to a big boat and trailer through an organization or business, we would be especially interested in hearing from you.
