In the 1830’s and 40’s, the mill race brought a boom in commerce to our city becoming the center and focus of our city. We thank you for the heritage of prosperity and ask you to restore it to our city. However, we repent of letting monetary gain throw us off course from what You designed our community to be. Turn our focus back to You. You are God, and there is no other. You are God, and there is none like You. We commit to fix our eyes on You and not fixate on earthly gain. We will allow nothing to reign over us and take Your place in our lives.
Heb. 12: 1,2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
1 Chr. 16: 11-12 Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced…
Lord, we thank you for Will Kellogg and his generosity to our city, and his belief that it was by Your blessing that he was able to attain wealth. We thank you for his foundation and the benefits it has brought to our community. We pray that You continue to bless Kellogg’s so Will’s generosity might continue to impact our city and places across the world. We pray for godly people to be hired for CEO and management positions so that monies would be used wisely for righteous causes as opposed to politically correct causes. Return this organization to its foundations of family values versus global and business values. And may we follow the example W.K. set for us by generously giving from what you have given us. Prov. 11:25 The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
Prov. 19:17 If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD--and he will repay you!
