Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, dates and times are subject to change.
New for 2020-21 Season!
Students will have the opportunity to participate in the 2020-21 All-State Orchestra in Tampa, FL. The All-State Orchestra represents the most talented and driven young musicians from the entire state of Florida. To participate, students must be enrolled in a home-school or public school orchestra program. Click HERE to access general information about All-State, and click HERE to access the FOA (Florida Orchestra Association) website that lists the official audition excerpts, sheet music, participation rules, & rehearsal locations. Ms. Naffe will provide the application forms at your request. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL AUGUST to ask about All-State. That will be too late. There are many details that will need to be discussed about All-State, such as lodging, food, transportation, and event details. These preparations must be made well in advance.
There are two ways to be involved: 1) Audition into the main orchestra, or 2) Be nominated by Ms. Naffe for the Honors Orchestra. Ms. Naffe nominates students at her discretion. To be considered for the All-State Honors Orchestra, students must demonstrate superior abilities on their instrument, have a strong work ethic, and be committed to taking lessons to prepare.
For either orchestra option, students are required to take free private lessons with Ms. Naffe, or choose to pay a private instructor to prepare for this challenging & fulfilling opportunity. Contact Ms. Naffe to schedule your child's lessons or to obtain a list of recommended instructors.
