Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, dates and times are subject to change.
Orchestra is an opportunity to experience something new that will develop into a life-long appreciation for the arts. Students often realize that music is their career field! In Orchestra, students are part of the cultural fabric of the Pensacola community and have the opportunity to experience the great wealth of string orchestra literature.
Designed to challenge, nurture, and inspire, the BBMSO is a musical laboratory where students not only master their parts and develop a deep understanding of music, but also explore their roles as musician citizens within their school & community. Students weave and integrate what they learn in orchestra into what they do in stream classes, such as Battle of the Bands, Renaissance Faire, YGP Simulations, Music stream activities, and much more.
At Brown-Barge, we aim to create leaders, innovative thinkers, and articulate communicators for the 21st century and beyond. In the Orchestra program, students will have many opportunities to apply and develop skills in leadership, productivity, collaboration, and public speaking. The Orchestra program transforms the lives of its young musicians by giving them the inspiration, support, and skills to be tomorrow’s great musicians and leaders.
Most importantly, Orchestra is a safe place for students. It is an outlet to express their feelings as they stumble through adolescence. It is an opportunity to develop compassion, confidence, and growth as a person. It is an adventure to discover who they are and who they want to be. It is where they create lifelong friendships. It is where they experience the joy and creativity of music. Orchestra is where they want to be all day.
"There is a place just for you in Orchestra. We need you! You are the future of music and the future of the world. We can't change the world without you." - Ms. Naffe
