It has been two long months since we last joined the company led by Captain Gomez. The company was battered and down twenty-nine men. Down twenty percent of the company may sound terrible, but the company had kept not a single survivor in its wake. Roughly one hundred thousand enemy combatants had died in the past months. The west knew Gomez's company was coming.
Captain Gomez peered through his binoculars towards Los Angelas. Surrounding him was Sgt. Balke and Sgt. Bargas. They stood atop a mountain on the San Gabrel mountain range. Balke's mouth was watering; he couldn't wait to end Art Girls life. He wanted to be the one that took her out, but he knew he might not get the chance. Gomez had already decided to give the honor to Bargas. He had lost the lost men in the past few months.
"Bargas, I've decided to let you finish off Art Girl," Gomez spoke. "It was bullshit what happened back in Vegas, and I know that you want revenge for what she had done."
"Why not me Captain?"
That was the voice of Pvt. Logan. He had been responsible for nearly twenty thousand enemy deaths. He was a sniper that was top notch and never missed a shot. In fact, most if not all the company thought Logan was a reincarnation of Rama. Rama was an ancient god from India. His work with his bow was bar none.
"I don't know Logan so far it's seemed like you've had all the fun around here," Gomez retorted. "Maybe if you saved some for the rest of us in Reno I would give you that chance."
Later that night Gomez went over the plan with the company. The forward scouts brought back information that Art Girl's compound was heavily guarded. There are three whole divisions waiting in the area. Gomez wasn't surprised though they had effectively snuck all the way here while causing all the destruction. Art Girl knew her life was in danger.
"Men we knew that lives would be lost on this mission, but now I am expecting over seventy-five percent of us will not make it back home. We will have five helicopters coming to pick us up if we can disable the anti-air defenses around the palace."
"Hey guys, let's get out of here!"
Everyone turned to Pvt. Logan. "Why the hell would we leave now?" Gomez shouted in anger.
"Oh, I just sniped Art Girl as she was walking out onto her balcony. I heard on their radio communication that she was going to be addressing the three divisions before she sent them out to hunt for us."
"Can you confirm she's dead?" Gomez asked.
"shk.. Art Girl... shot in the... already dead.... send out.... divisions... bring them..." a voice played over the radio in Logan's hand.
"I think we could use those rides to get out of here asap boss!"
"Well that wasn't what I was expecting from tonight, but let's get the hell out of here!" Gomez said.
