Rook and Justin Avenge Rook's Wife: A Modern Twist on The Story of Virahda
"I'll make him pay for disrespecting my wife," thought Sam. No one throws Sam's wife through a coffee table and gets away with it. She was the perfect woman in the world. She was educated; she had graduated from the local community college with her associate degree. She was also an athlete like no other being the captain of the best women’s lacrosse team in the world. Sam admired her strong, powerful presence.
She was the best wife anyone could ask for. He had to take revenge on none other than his own brother, Charles. Sam knew he saw him trip his wife and slam her through the table. An "accident" like that doesn't actually happen on accident. Sam knew that his brother, Charles, was too big and strong for him to fight alone. Charles had been going to the gym non-stop and his mass and strength knew no bounds. "Loading his body with that many calories of milk a day was unnatural," Sam thought. Sam wanted to get an apology from Charles after all that’s what a brother should do. Unfortunately, there was something in the back of his mind telling him there was no way he would be able to get the apology. Their family was cold blooded no one ever owned up for their mistakes even when caught on camera. Their dad had been seen stealing his neighbors’ gnomes, but he never admitted to it when confronted by the Home Owners Association. Sam knew Charles would be the same. That’s why he had to get Nick to help him in case a fight broke out.
Sam texted Nick and told him to meet him at the gym, Guy Heaven. Charles would be there without a doubt; after all he never missed a day and was addicted to pre-workout. Nick and Sam met up and walked into the gym. The lights were off ,though, which was way out of the ordinary. The smell of the gym was horrific; it smelled like was rotten milk. Suddenly, one light turned on over the lateral pull down machine. There was Charles!
"Brother, I sensed your presence and puny arms coming here," mocked Charles.
"This is your last chance to apologize!" yelled Sam and Nick in unison.
"I never did anything wrong, brother" Charles retorted. Why would I throw your wife through my table and cause all of that damage to my $1700 rug?" “After all it was I who invited you guys to my house for the dinner party. I just wanted to see my brother and my good friend. I won’t apologize for something that I never did.”
“Charles, all I want is an apology and we can leave in peace. When you threw my wife down you caused her to cut open her face as she fell through the table. The least you can do is say sorry,” Sam pleaded.
Charles was visibly angry from what Sam had said. All the milk was making his emotions go haywire. This caused Charles to shout, “I’m sorry Sam you know I don’t apologize when I’m wrong let alone when you come into my place of peace and tranquility and accuse me of this nonsense.”
“Well brother, I guess if you won’t be civilized and just apologies to me, I will have to avenge my wife right now.” Her injuries from her fall caused her to miss the national championship in lacrosse. I will have to defeat you right now.”
Sam and Nick charged at Charles one going left the other right. They had been practicing for this fight the entire week. Charles just stood there and took the hits. "That's it?" Charles shouted mockingly. Sam and Nick attacked him over and over, but Charles would not go down. It seemed like all the training and mass he had gained had made him indestructible. "This is hopeless" though Sam. "He is too strong to beat". Sam knew what he had to do. He pulled out his gun and shot. THUD! Charles's massive lifeless body fell onto a pile of weights. Sam felt terrible, but he had to show no one, not even his brother, would disrespect his wife and live. The two friends walked out of the gym; both men extremely sad and exhausted. There would be no consequences for their actions. After all Charles was one of the most notorious criminals in the entire world. Sam and Nick would be heroes, but the sadness of losing a friend and brother would weigh on them forever.
Sam and Nick prepare to fight Charles.
Authors Notes: For this story I decided to change the battle between Rama and Lackshama vs Virahda. Rama and Lachkshama are brothers who are going with a sage, formerly a powerful king, to defeat a demon named Visvamitra. On their way through the woods they encounter a rakshasa named Viradha. Viradha abducts Rama’s wife Sita. The heroes are forced to fight the demon in order to rescue Sita from Viradha. When they fight the demon, they are unable to defeat him with normal attacks. This forces them to injure him then put him into a grave they have dug for him. What I changed about this story was first making the antagonist of the story, Charles, the brother to the main hero Sam. Instead of having Sam and Nick be brothers I made them good friends. I changed Charles from being a demon to being a notorious criminal. The heroes are unable to cause any damage to Charles because he is so strong from drinking a lot of milk and works out so much. This causes Sam to have to use and ace up his sleeve just as in the Ramayana. The reason for their battle is roughly the same. Sam wants to fight Charles because Charles injured his wife by throwing her through a table, and the injuries caused her to miss the national championship in lacrosse. I added the parts about Charles having all of the milk for 2 reasons. The first being on of my good friends is obsessed with drinking milk(weird I know), and the second is because there is a joke between people who go to the gym about drinking a gallon of milk a day to get bigger very quickly.
