This week, we strengthened partnerships with local officials in the towns of Lobo, Taysan, and Padre Garcia for the establishment of municipal libraries.

Batangas Provincial Library Hosts Oath-Taking and First Meeting of New Librarians Association Officers

The Batangas Provincial Library proudly welcomed the newly elected officers of the Librarians Association of Batangas for the term 2025–2027. Following their official oath-taking ceremony administered by Vice Governor Dodo Mandanas, the association held its inaugural meeting within the library premises.

We are deeply honored to have served as the venue for this significant occasion and to have witnessed the beginning of their leadership journey. The Batangas Provincial Library remains committed to supporting the professional growth of librarians and fostering collaboration within the community.

The Batangas Provincial Library visited the municipalities of San Pascual, Alitagtag, Sta. Teresita, San Nicolas, and Agoncillo to advocate for the implementation of RA 7743.

Patuloy na umiikot ang Batangas Provincial Library sa iba’t ibang bayan sa lalawigan upang isulong ang kahalagahan ng pagkakaroon ng pampublikong aklatan alinsunod sa RA 7743.

Kamakailan ay bumisita ang BPL sa mga bayan ng San Pascual, Alitagtag, Sta. Teresita, San Nicolas at Agoncillo upang makipagpulong sa mga lokal na opisyal at administrator. Sa pamamagitan ng mga pagbisitang ito, layunin ng BPL na higit pang mapatatag ang pakikipagtulungan sa mga lokal na pamahalaan at mahikayat ang pagtatatag ng mga municipal library sa lalawigan.

The Batangas Provincial Library proudly took part in the Matatag na Batangas Award (MBA-VSR) validation process, presenting indicators for city and municipal libraries across the province.

The Provincial Library Office successfully outlined the indicators included in the Data Capture Form for the Validation Process of the Matatag na Batangas Award: Visionary Leadership towards Sustainable and Resilient Local Government Units (MBA-VSR), the localized Seal of Good Local Governance assessment of the Province of Batangas.

The assessment of city and municipal libraries in the province was among those given indicators to evaluate their current status, aligned with the Standards for Public Libraries now being used as the national benchmark.

It is inspiring to know that the presence of public libraries can be recognized as one of the indicators under the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG)—a significant step that will help enhance and strengthen the services of public libraries.
