Introduction
Have you tried to start a research paper but had difficulty figuring out the initial steps? Research is carrying out a study of concern or problem. The research process is a multistep process where each step builds off the previous step to be considered effective. As a researcher this process can be rigorous, time consuming and complex if not planned and organized properly. Depending on the discipline the research steps can range from five to twelve steps. This Basic Research Skills WebQuest will guide learners through the initial steps of research. It will introduce the learner to search terminology and the search strategies. Learners will work through the main steps becoming knowledgeable and confident in their searching abilities.
The aim of this WebQuest is to:
· Assist learners in locating reliable sources of information
· Assist learners in understanding research terminology.
· Evaluate and search various search engines or sources.
· Encourage learners to critically look at all information that is read.
