ACDF : Anterior Cervical Discetomy and Fusion

Anterior: Front. Cervical: The upper part of spine. Discectomy: Removal of disc(s). Fusion: Linking of bones in the spinal cord together. This is a surgical decompression procedure to remove damaged disc(s) and relieve spinal cord or nerve root pressure.

What can cause this to happen:

Cervical Spine compression can be caused by many things including: degenerative disc disease, injury, bone issues, etc...

My Personal Symptoms:

Horrific burning pain in my neck. I could not even bear the weight of a towel on my head to dry my hair!

Numbness radiating through arms and hands (I could not make my thumb and pinky touch), and I was constantly dropping things.

My Post Surgery Image (below):

Relief!  Finally some space for the nerves that go to my arms and hands! Instant relief when I woke up from surgery, the pain never returned.
