What we are and what we do (in no specific order):
We are cell biologist (with imaging expertise)
We collaborate with biomedical engineers developing new imaging techniques
We apply our knowledge of the endocytic pathway to translational applications in the area of drug delivery and targeting in cancer
We investigate the role of endocytic pathway and endosome-mitochondria interactions in iron metabolism and cell signaling in cancer
Post-doctoral fellows
Amit Verma (2022 - present)
Ph.D. in Experimental Oncology (2012), Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), Chaudhary Charan Singh University, India.
Dr Verma is working on the role of tumor microenvironment on drug-target engagement in live intact tumor xenograft.
Dr. Verma is supported by NIH NCI R01 CA237267 and R01 CA250636.
Arun Asif (2023 - present)
Arun grew up in a remote area of Punjab, Pakistan. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from GC University Lahore and then pursued a master’s degree from NUST Islamabad. He got his Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering (2022) in the Jeju National University, South Korea.
His research focuses on developing innovative 3D culture techniques to investigate tissue function and disease. Dr. Asif is working on the role of iron metabolism and endosome-mitochondria interactions in cancer cell invasion and metastasis. Arun is supported by NIH NCI R01CA233188.
He enjoys exploring new places, trying new cuisines, and hiking outdoors.
