BARBERTON CHRISTMAS WALK PAGEANT RULES

CONTESTANT INFORMATION & RULES

1. Location – Barberton Middle School, 477 Fourth St NW (Cafetorium)

2. Date – Sunday, November 12, 2023

3. Check-In/Registration –  415pm-515pm      

4. Pageant Times – Princess 1pm;    Jr Queen 230pm;    Queen 4pm   Crowning 5pm

5. Age Category –    Princess age 5-9;  Jr Queen age 10-14;  Queen age 15-19  

6. Pageant Fee – $25 CASH payable at door Per contestant. Fee is non-refundable.  

7. Attire – (Girls) Easter-style dresses, prom dresses, pageant gowns/cupcake style dresses are welcome. Dresses/gowns should be age-appropriate. Contestants in the Teen & Miss age divisions only may have a modest slit in their gown (nothing above mid-thigh) and no deep plunging necklines. No visible tattoos or body piercings. Points will be deducted for attire not meeting requirements.

8. Contestant – Must not currently be holding any other royal title.

9. Judging – All contestants will be scored in these categories: beauty, attire, personality, and overall presentation.

10. Public Speaking – All Contestants will be asked to introduce themselves on stage (name & contestant number). Contestants will also be asked age-appropriate on-stage questions.

  Judging will be based on the following criteria:

Princess - 2 Question  

Jr Queen - 3 Questions 

Queen- 4 Questions

11. Contestant Requirements – Contestants may not have a criminal record or any pending criminal charges. Contestants must also be unmarried and remain unmarried during their reign. Contestants may not be pregnant or have a child.

12. Judges – All decisions of the judges are final. Committee members do not score contestants. Unbecoming conduct of contestants or their guests will prevent contestants and/or guests from participating in future Barberton pageants/events. Scores and judges’ comments will be emailed to the contestant/their guardian upon request after the pageant.

13. Residency – Participants Must live in the Barberton Local School District

14. Prizes – Top winners of each age division will receive a crown/tiara, Crown Pin and Sash. Runners up in each category will receive a runner up medal with a Crown Pin. Queen, Jr Queen & Princess are considered court members and can be traveling royalty. Will be required to participate in LOCAL Barberton scheduled parades, community events and volunteer service events.

15. Cell Phones – Use of cell phones by contestants, parents/guardians or guests ARE FORBIDDEN IN DRESSING ROOMS! NO EXCEPTIONS!

16. Admission – The fee for all spectators is $1.00 per person. ($5 max for immediate family)  Contestant admission is free.

17. Parking – Parking is first-come, first-serve.

18. Restrictions – Please be aware of signs posted.

19. Age categories may be limited to 30 per group or combined at the discretion of the chairman due to limited entered participants in any division.

WINNER INFORMATION

1.     Meeting – There will be a mandatory meeting for ALL WINNERS immediately following the pageant closing.

a.     1 parent must be present with the winner

b.     Winners must be available to participate throughout the day of the Christmas Walk Activities on 11/25/23-  planned to help with Santa and volunteer.  Also Must be available for the Lighting at 5PM

2. Traveling Royalty – This is not a requirement- If the chosen Queen would like to travel she may and the Jr Queen & Princess can with her.  It is a group decision once the court is crowned.
