Life With Dixie Rose

 Dixie Rose is a "old-fashion" straight backed German Shepherd who was 8 weeks old on her gotcha day. The first year was very chaotic, not so much because of the land shark behavior typical of German Shepherd puppies, but because my  husband was diagnosed with prostrate cancer and was at the beginning of his treatment plan including surgery, hormone therapy, and nearly two months of daily radiation treatments.  While we managed through the impact of his cancer journey we also dove into throughly training Dixie to prepare her for a life as my service dog. Dixie knows 35 specific commands, and has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizenship certifications, AKC Novice Trick Dog, and Do More With Your Dog Novice Trick Dog Master.
