PERSONAL DETAILS

I am from the sub-rural town of Karimpur, Nadia District, in the state of West Bengal in India. Far away from the luxuries of cities, I grew up in a village. The journey of Prof. Swadhin Kumar Mandal from our locality inspired me a lot to go ahead in research from the very beginning. 

I started my primary education at Karimpur Sudha Smriti Sishu Niketan. Those days are very memorable. Most of my childhood friends are still with me and I am very grateful to all my teachers for providing us the basic fundamental education of life. Happy to say that during those six years (Nursery - class IV) I became the School Topper for four years. 

Then, I got admitted to Karimpur Jagannath High School (H.S.) for higher education. KJHS belongs to my heart and I spent eight valuable years (Jan 2013 - July 2021) here with so many unforgettable memories. Again, I am grateful to all my teachers for providing quality education and inspiring us toward a bright future. In 2019, I passed the Secondary Examination (WBBSE) and became the Block Topper. In 2021, I passed the Higher Secondary Examination (WBCHSE). Since 2021, I am getting the DST-INSPIRE Scholarship for becoming the top 1% Topper in the Higher Secondary Examination in West Bengal, India. 

Since Class XI I worked hard for competitive exams such as the IAT (IISER Aptitude Test) & NEST (National Entrance Screening Test). I cleared IAT 2021 with an All India Rank of 3548 & also cleared NEST 2021 with an All India Rank of 667. Via NEST 2021, I got admitted to NISER Bhubaneswar, a premium research institute under the umbrella of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.

 In the first-year summer internship, I worked for two months (28th May 2022 – 27th July 2022) on "Synthesis of N-donor Ligands" under Dr. Sharanappa Nembenna at NISER Bhubaneswar. I learned how to apply various chemicals through Reflux, Purification, Rota vaporization, and Column chromatography to synthesize N donor ligands, especially thiourea, NacNac, Carbodiimide, and Conjugated Bis Guanidine (CBG). 

After the third semester, I joined Prof. Swadhin Kumar Mandal’s LAB as a Winter Intern at IISER Kolkata. I  worked 2 weeks (16th December 2022 – 30th December 2022) on the project "Advances of BODIPY as a New Generation Photocatalyst" under the guidance of Prof. Swadhin Kumar Mandal and Dr. Anup Bhunia at IISER Kolkata. 

 After the fourth semester,  I joined Prof. Swadhin Kumar Mandal’s LAB as a Summer Intern at IISER Kolkata to continue my previous project. I worked for two months (15th May 2023 – 15th July 2023) on "Synthesis of New Metal-free Photocatalyst and its Applications". 

After completing the sixth semester (BS period), I joined Prof. Suhrit Ghosh’s LAB as a Summer Intern at IACS, Kolkata for my 3rd Summer Internship. I completed a Summer Project (20th May 2024 – 20th July 2024) on "Helical Polymer: Design of Dynamic Helical Polymer and its Application in Ferroelectricity".

Currently, I am working as an M.Sc. Project Student (August 2024 - going on) on "Sustainable Organic Synthesis" under the guidance of Prof. Prasenjit Mal at NISER Bhubaneswar.
