The Parent Council would like to send a MASSIVE thank you to Mrs McKinlay who will retire at the end of term. I am sure we all agree that she will be really hard to replace. Mrs McKinlay has been a committed Head Teacher, with a passionate dedication to ensuring the best for every pupil in Bankhead Primary School. She has always led from the front to support our families and children with a devotion to all our families wellbeing and to ensuring our pupil's attain to the best of their ability.
Thank you Mrs McKinlay for your amazing leadership over the last 7 years and especially over the last year with the many challenges which the pandemic has brought to Bankhead's families, children and staff.
The Parent Council would also like to send a MASSIVE thank you to Mrs Rutherford in the school office who will also retire at the end of term. Mrs Rutherford has worked at Bankhead for over 30 years and knows the school inside out. The Parent Council have relied on her expertise and knowledge many times, and she has been an unmeasurable support to us, all parents, pupils and staff at the school.
The Chair and the Secretary of the Parent Council were lucky enough to be part of the interview panel for our new Head Teacher on Thursday 3rd June.
We can confirm that Mrs Vicky McCool will take over from Mrs McKinlay in the new session. Mrs McCool was an outstanding candidate at interview and we whole heartedly believe that she will be an excellent Head Teacher for our school.
She will come from a school in South Lanarkshire and this means she will bring lots of new ideas and approaches that could benefit our children!
It was a lovely day for it on Saturday 29th May. Most families used their bikes to get around the board ... we had children hanging upside down on railings, a family lost trying to find Skitterigg Park and a totally fun time was had by all!
The winning family had a total of £8000 and have a child in P5b ... Is it you?
This family and 2 runners up will receive a small prize in the next few days.
