KNOWING WHAT TO DO IS NOT THE SAME AS DOING IT.
You may already have the information, equipment, account, membership, opportunity, relationship, plan or resource you need.
The problem may not be access.
The problem may be execution.
This page is designed to help you identify what you've been postponing and turn intention into measurable action.
POSITION means you've created the ability to act.
PROGRESS means you actually acted.
Examples:
Gym membership = Position
Going to the gym consistently = Progress
Business bank account = Position
Funding and using the account while operating the business = Progress
Résumé completed = Position
Submitting applications = Progress
Savings account opened = Position
Depositing money consistently = Progress
Training program identified = Position
Enrolling and attending = Progress
Resource Hub opened = Position
Using one of the resources = Progress
Answer these questions before leaving this page.
1. What important goal am I currently trying to accomplish?
2. What have I already done to put myself in position?
3. What action do I already know I need to take?
4. How long have I been postponing it?
5. What am I doing instead?
6. What is the actual consequence of continuing to wait?
7. What is the smallest meaningful action I can complete next?
8. When exactly will I do it?
MAKE THE MOVE.
Don't try to fix your entire life today.
Choose ONE measurable action you can complete within the next 24 hours.
Your action should be something another person could verify happened.
Weak:
“I'm going to work on my finances.”
Measurable:
“I will transfer $25 into savings tonight.”
Weak:
“I'm going to get healthier.”
Measurable:
“I will walk for 30 minutes tomorrow at 7:00 AM.”
Weak:
“I'm going to work on my business.”
Measurable:
“I will contact five potential customers before 5:00 PM tomorrow.”
WHAT IS YOUR 24-HOUR MOVE?
When you postpone important work, something usually takes its place.
Ask yourself:
Is it social media?
Television or entertainment?
Gaming?
Gambling or sports betting?
Partying or unnecessary outings?
Sleeping beyond what I need?
Constant planning without execution?
Waiting until I “feel motivated”?
Helping everybody else while ignoring my own responsibilities?
Fear of failing?
Fear of succeeding and having greater responsibility?
Don't only ask:
“Why haven't I done it?”
Also ask:
“What have I repeatedly chosen instead?”
Accountability becomes stronger when a commitment exists outside your head.
Identify one trustworthy person who supports the lifestyle you're trying to build.
Tell them:
WHAT you're going to do.
WHEN you're going to do it.
HOW they can verify you did it.
Then report back after completion.
PROTECT — What distraction or behavior needs to stop taking priority?
POSITION — What do I already have available that I need to start using?
PROGRESS — What measurable action will I complete within the next 24 hours?
MAINTAIN — What productive behavior needs to become routine after I complete the first action?
LEAVE WITH A MOVE.
