YEAR 1 TARGETS - 2024
Establish Integration and Inclusion Team which includes members of all cohorts of our education setting namely: Special Needs Assistants, Autism Support Class Teachers, Mainstream Class Teachers, Special Education Class Teachers, Temporary Teachers, Permanent Teachers, Members of the Leadership Team.
Rename our ASD Classes to Autism Support Classes.
Cease the use of the phrase “The Unit.”
Create a survey to assess staff opinions and understanding of integration.
Administer Survey on Integration.
Study results of survey and identify focus of SSE.
Create a new Integration and Inclusion Policy as an addendum to our SEN Policy.
YEAR 2 TARGETS - 2025
Introduce the idea of Preparation of Integration and include it in our Policy.
Identify levels of integration and include it in our policy.
Introduce and embed Inclusion and Diversity Week.
Host Parents Open Night that brings together parents from our Mainstream Classes and Autism Support Classes.
Establish an Associated Pupils link on our Administration System (Aladdin) where Autism Support Class pupils are linked/associated to the mainstream class level.
Professional Learning Opportunities with outside Agencies – One per year for each of the three years:
NSCE, AsIAm & OTHER
Annually review Autism Support Class pupils school placement as advised by NCSE.
YEAR 3 TARGETS - 2026
Establish a culture of informal in-school staff case/advice sharing sessions in relation to integration.
Include the parent and pupil voice in this process
Update school values as part of updated School Plan.
Induction programme / Sub teacher information for children will additional needs.
Embed all achieved targets
