Last holiday, My best friends and I had a holiday in Tidung Island. I also invited Bayu, my little brother, to join with us.So, there were six people who went to Tidung Island.
We started our journey from Bandung. A minibus was rented to take us from Bandung to Bahtera Jaya harbour, Jakarta. We left Bandung at 1 a.m and arrived in Bahtera Jaya harbor at 5 a.m.
There, we directly went to the place where we could buy tickets. The tickets were used for us to get into the ship. The ship would take us to our destination, Tidung island. It needed 3 hours for us to reach Tidung island from Bahtera Jaya. Tidung Island was a great island. There was no pollution because we could only found bicycles. We could not find car there and there were view motorbike found on that island.
After arriving in Tidung Island, we directly went to the villa we have rented for two days. We were guided by a guide during our trip. When we have put our baggage in the villa, then, the guide told us that was the time for use to go snorkeling. I really enjoyed it, but unfortunately, Bayu could not join us. He was afraid to jump to the sea. So, he just stayed on the boat. Then, that day was closed by grilling some fishes near our villa.
On the second day, we tried several water sports such as banana boat, para-sailing, and surfing. One best experience for us when we spent holiday in Tidung island was when we jumped from Jembatan Cinta into the water. Jembatan Cinta was a bridge connecting two islands, small Tidung island, and large Tidung Island.
Finally we needed to go home at 3 p.m. We used the last ship that would take us from Tidung Island to Bahtera Jaya harbor.

Last Wednesday, my parents said that they had free time on the weekend. They told me that we were going to Bali for three days, starting from Friday until Sunday.
We arrived in Bali on Friday morning. On our first day, we went to Kuta beach. We played on the beach until noon. Next, we had lunch in one of the restaurants near the beach. The food was delicious. After having lunch, we went straight to Jimbaran to enjoy the sunset and we had dinner there. The next day we went to Tanah Lot. We took so many photos there. The last day, we went to the beach near our hotel to see the sunrise. Then, in the morning we went to several traditional markets to buy souvenirs. Finally, we went to the airport in the afternoon.
My holiday experience in Bali was amazing. I was really happy and thankful that my parents took me there. It was the best holiday that I have experienced so far.

My Precious Time in Bali
Last year, I got a special thing from my parents. They told me that I could stay in my uncle’s hometown in Kuta, Bali. I was so excited.
When I landed in Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, I saw Balinese dancers who were about to perform Pendet Dance. It is one of the most famous dances in Bali. I enjoyed the dance while waiting my uncle to pick me up. Finally, my uncle and my aunt arrived and they immediately drove me to their house.
It was in the afternoon and my uncle wanted me to join him to go to Tanah Lot. It was the perfect spot for those who wanted to enjoy sunset. The sunset was very beautiful. Then, I see Kecak Dance performance in Tanah Lot. After watching the performance, I went back to my uncle’s house. When my uncle and I got back to the house, my aunt had cooked traditional cuisine of Bali, Ayam Betutu. It was really delicious. The next day, I went to Pandawa Beach. The beach was clean and the water was blue. Overall, Bali was really beautiful. I really enjoyed spending my holiday there.

I remember the day when I first got Kutkut, my 7 year old cat. I wanted to name her because she was so cute. My older sister Karina convinced me to name her Kutkut lucu instead, so we could call her Kutkut for short. I was so fond of to Kutkut. Every time I saw her, I couldn’t walk away; I would just have to hug her. I even slept at the end of my bed, so I can hug her the whole night even though I was freezing.
I always remember so many fun times with Kutkut . Like when we would run and jump off the end of our jetty, and Kutkut would chase after us. When I was scared or mad, I would just hug Kutkut and everything wouldn’t be so bad.
One night, right before I went to bed, my mom let her out. While I went to sleep, my mom went to call Kutkut back in. But she didn’t come in, so I thought she maybe went inside my neighbor’s house. As my mom and dad went outside to look for Kutkut , I became really worried. They couldn’t find her. Every ten minutes they would go out to look for her, so I went to bed hoping she was safe. I just thought she got lost and would come back tomorrow.
The next day was the worst. My mom woke us early and told me and my sister, Karina, that Kutkut died last night. I was so sad and did not want to do anything that day. When I was going to school, I could not stop crying. At school all my friends made me cards and tried to make me stop crying, but I couldn’t. My teacher would always look at me and ask why I was crying. Even my friend was crying with me.
When I got home I went to my room crying really loudly. I wanted to scream. I came downstairs and hugged my mom. She said we could get another cat. Then, she was trying to find a new cat on the internet. But I did not want another cat. I want Kutkut . She never found one that looked like Kutkut or at the same age or even in the same kind.
That night I slept with my mom and we prayed for Kutkut . I kept thinking she was a ghost at the end of the bed, so I stayed closed to my mom. The next day I figured out that if Kutkut was a ghost, she would not scare me or haunt me. She would be waiting for me to play with her.
I still think about Kutkut every day and wish she could come back.

It was the night of the fair, and the children at Muhammad taufik’s school were really excited. They ran down the path out of school as fast as they could. Muhammad taufik ran all the way home, and changed into his jeans and sneakers. He ate his dinner quickly, and sat at the window waiting for his dad to come home. He couldn’t wait for six o’clock when the fair would begin. He had been saving his pocket money for weeks.
When Muhammad taufik and his family arrived at the fair, it had just opened. Already there were crowds of people swarming around footstalls, displays and dozens of rides. “Can I buy some chips and a drink?” asked MUhammad Taufik.
“Okay,” said Muhammad taufik’s dad. “But hang on tightly to your wallet, there’s a lot of people around.” “I’ll be fine,” said Muhammad taufik impatiently.

Balangan Beach is a marvelous white sandy beach in Bali. It is exactly located in the white stone hill area of Pecatu, the southern part of Bali in Uluwatu peninsula. Visitors can reach this beach by using any vehicles. This beach is only 40 minutes from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport or around 10 minutes from Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park. To enter this beach, the visitors do not have to pay any money. If you want to eat something, then you might have to bring some money. Therefore, this is a very recommended beach to be added in your bucket list.

My friend Bono and I had arrived at the Activity Center on Friday evening. The accommodation wasn’t wonderful, but we had everything we needed (beds, blankets, food), and we were pleases to be out of the city and in the fresh air.
On Saturday morning, we met the other ten members of our group. Cameron had come along with two friends, Kevin and Simon, while Sister Retno and Tiwuk had come with Amanda. We had come from various places and none of us knew the area.
We knew we were going to spend the weekend outdoors, but none of us was sure exactly how. Half of us spend the morning caving while the others went rock-climbing and then we changed at lunchtime. Bono and I went to the caves first. Climbing out was harder than going in, but after a good deal of pushing, we were out at last – covered in mud but pleased and excited by what we’ve done.

At a quarter to three one afternoon, a little girl, about seven years old, was found wandering outside a police officer in Jenderal Sudirman Street. She was wearing a light blue night dress and shoes that were too large for her.
“What’s your name? Where do you live?” a kind policeman asked her. But the little girl looked at him and didn’t say anything. No one seemed to know this lost child. Since the police couldn’t get any information from her, they sent her to Yogya Children’s Center.
At the Children’s Center, the little remained silent and didn’t talk to anyone. As the people didn’t know her name, they began to call her ‘Little One’. ‘Little One’ underwent a medical examination which showed that she was not a normal, healthy child. Although she was not dumb, she remained silent for four days. It was only then that she began to talk.
The nurses looked after her just as they did to other children, and ‘Little One’ seemed quite happy and contended. She was always cheerful and responsive, although she was a bit slow in understanding instructions. When she was allowed to go out of her ward, her face beamed with curiosity and excitement.
Meanwhile, the police tried to find her parents. Their efforts proved worthless when no one came to claim her. She was ‘nobody’s child’.
‘Little One’ had no place to go. The Center became her home.

Jurong Bird Singapore
I recently visited Singapore with my parents. We visited many interesting places. The one I enjoyed best was the Wildlife Park Jurong bird.
The Wildlife Park has a lot different animals and birds. There are over 600 animals, including penguin and Orang Utan. They are kept in their natural surroundings. I much preferred the Wildlife Park to a zoo where a lot of animals are in cages.
We were able to walk along the Orang Utan. We were even allowed to touch them and to feed them. It was very exciting to be very so close to them.
We saw huge snake. They looked much untamed. I got my photograph taken with one of them. It is a wonderful souvenir of my holiday in Singapore.
We also went to see the crocodiles. The Wildlife Park has a lot of fresh-water and salt-water crocodiles. Some of them were very big and scary with huge teeth. I did not get very close to them.
We also visited the aviary. There were some very colorful birds there. I really liked an old parrot which could talk. I wish we could have spent more time in the Wildlife Park. There was so much to see.

Subject: Formal Noise Complaint - Flat 12B, Willow Street
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to you today to make a formal complaint regarding a serious and ongoing noise disturbance from the residents of Flat 12B, Willow Street. My name is John Carter, and I am the resident of the flat directly below, 12A.
For the past three months, my neighbours in 12B have been playing excessively loud music late at night, typically between the hours of 11:00 PM and 3:00 AM.
This happens repeatedly, at least four to five nights a week, including weeknights when most people have to get up for work the next day. The noise level is unacceptable, and it has been seriously affecting my ability to sleep.
I believe in resolving issues amicably, so my first step was to speak to the tenants directly. About two months ago, I politely knocked on their door and explained that their music was disturbing me. They apologised, and for two or three nights the noise stopped. However, it soon started again at the same excessive volume. I have since tried to speak with them on two further occasions, but they have been dismissive and uncooperative.
After my attempts to resolve the issue personally had failed, I contacted our landlord. I have spoken to the landlord three times over the past month.
He has assured me on each occasion that he would speak to the tenants, but unfortunately, nothing has changed. If the landlord had taken effective action, I would not be writing to you now. This situation is causing me a great deal of stress and is affecting my health and work performance. I have started to keep a diary of the disturbances, which I can provide upon request.
As this is my last resort, I formally request that the council investigate this matter and take action to resolve this unacceptable situation as soon as possible.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
John Carter

My most embarrassing travel mistake happened during my first trip to Japan. I was trying to get from Tokyo to the smaller city of Odawara. I arrived at the huge Tokyo station and actually felt quite confident. I found the correct platform, saw a train with 'Nagoya' on the destination board, which I knew was in the right direction, and quickly got on. I found a comfortable seat by the window and started to relax.
For the first hour, I was enjoying the view as the countryside flew past. But I slowly began to realise that the train was not stopping at any small stations. In fact, it wasn't stopping at all. I started to feel a bit worried. I looked at my cheap ticket again and then at the other passengers. They all looked like business travellers, and the train was very quiet and modern.
About ninety minutes later, the train finally slowed down. An announcement said we had arrived in Nagoya! I was completely lost, very embarrassed, and a long way past my destination. I got off the train and tried to speak to a station guard. My Japanese was terrible, and his English was not much better, so it was a complete misunderstanding at first.
Eventually, with a lot of pointing at maps and a translation app on my phone, he understood my problem. He laughed and explained I had taken the 'Shinkansen', the super-fast bullet train, not the local service which stops at Odawara. I had to pay a very expensive new fare to get a train back to my destination. I was just relieved that I knew where I was. It was an embarrassing mistake, but now it's a funny story to tell my friends.

Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, in Hodgenville, Kentucky, USA. His parents were Thomas Lincoln, a farmer, and Nancy Hanks. His family was very poor. Abraham had one brother and one sister. His brother died in childhood. They grew up in a small log cabin house, with just one room inside.
Although slavery was legal in Kentucky at that time, Lincoln's father, who was a religious Baptist, refused to own any slaves. When Lincoln was seven years old, his family moved to Indiana, and later to Illinois. In his childhood he helped his father on the farm, but when he was 22 years old he left home and moved to New Salem, Illinois, where he worked in a general store. Later, he said that he had gone to school for just one year, but that was enough to learn how to read, write, and do simple math.
In 1842, he married Mary Todd Lincoln. They had four children, but three of them died when they were very young. Abraham Lincoln was sometimes called Abe Lincoln or "Honest Abe" after he ran miles to give a costumer the right amount of change. The nickname "Honest Abe" came from a time when he started a business that failed. Instead of running away like many people would have, he stayed and worked to pay off his debt.
He has also been called the "Great Emancipator" because of his work to end slavery in the United States. In 1863, he declared that all slaves held in the rebellious Confederate States were free. He also sponsored the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. Ratified in 1865, nine months after his assassination, that amendment completely outlawed slavery in the United States.
