Seperti jenis teks lainnya, Procedure Text terbagi menjadi beberapa bagian. Dengan mengikuti format/rumus bakunya, maka siapapun dapat membuat teks sesuai dengan jenis ini.

Ciri dari Procedure Teks

Dalam membuat teks procedure ada beberapa ciri khas yang perlu diketahui untuk dapat membuat teks yang pas dengan jenisnya selain dari mengerjakan contoh soal procedure text. Sedangkan untuk teks jenis ini ciri yang bisa dipelajari adalah sebagai berikut. 

• Menggunakan present tense. Karena merupakan fakta dan dapat dilakukan berulang-ulang maka digunakan jenis tense ini

• Menggunakan Imperative atau kata perintah. Sebagai bentuk instruksi, maka kata yang digunakan juga jadi seperti kata perintah yang menggunakan bare verb. 

• Tidak lupa pakai transitional marker. Untuk menjelaskan tahapan maka digunakan kata transisi seperti after that, and then, finallm first akan membuat teks mengalir dan lebih mudah dipahami

• Action Verbs. Menggunakan kata aktif 

• Numbering: penggunaan angka baik untuk countabe atau uncountable noun, terutama dibagian ingredient.

Pada bagian ini disebuatkan tujuan dari teks adalah membahas pembuatan apa atau melakukan apa. Misalkan pembuatan jus jeruk atau cara menyalakan komputer.

Hal selanjutnya adalah menjabarkan apa saja yang dibutuhkan untuk mencapai tujuan yang suda disebutkan pada bagian sebelumnya. Bisa bahan makanan untuk membuat nasi goreng atau alat untuk mengoperasionalkan sebuah aplikasi baru
