In compliance with the RCMP ministerial directive, applicants with a criminal record outside of York Region will be required to submit their fingerprints in order to have the Vulnerable Sector Check completed. I hereby authorize the York Regional Police Service to inquire into and disclose the results of any police records indicating criminal convictions, conditional discharges, absolute discharges and outstanding criminal charges to me and to conduct a local police contact search with any Police Service in Canada. In compliance with the RCMP ministerial directive, applicants with a criminal record outside of York Region will be required to submit their fingerprints in order to have the Criminal Record Check completed. You must be able to prove you reside in York Region if applying for a police criminal record or vulnerable sector check.

York Regional Police has just announced that as of April 1, citizens will be able to apply online for police background checks in York Region. York Regional Police offer background check applications online. Only residents of York Region with two pieces of government-issued identification can obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check.
