Leave Policy

The policy shall cater to the welfare of the staff and students in terms of availing leave. 

1. Students

• All students are expected to have regular attendance in the lessons, club activities, and other school programs.  In case any absentee from the school program, the following are to be observed:

• The parents have to inform the class teacher through a call or a leave letter has to be sent stating the reason, counter-signed by the concerned parent/guardian with the contact number 

• The class teacher concerned will need to make inquiries with the parent if a student is absent from class.

• A student’s prolonged absence due to domestic problems and medical cases will need to be informed by the class teacher to the school authority.

• A student’s absence for more than 10 days without any information will be considered as leaving school.

• The class teachers will maintain attendance and log books for the class. The remarks of the student’s absence/inquiries endorsed with the signature of the subject teacher are mandatory for each period. 

• On the return after the leave, the student has to produce medical documents or any other documents which will act as evidence.

• The log book will be submitted to the office at the end of each day and collected before the assembly the next day 

• A student absent from assembly without approval from the class teacher will be noted by the class teacher for further grading.

• To proceed to the hospital during class, proper permission needs to be sought from the class teacher and a leave chit should be submitted to the class logbook. 

• All students should have a minimum of 90% attendance to sit for the annual examinations. 

• To reduce absenteeism, class teachers and the school management are strict in sanctioning leave for students. Class teachers have the authority to sanction three days' leave for the students with the information from the concerned parents. Class teachers will have to report to the school administration if a student is absent for more than three days. 

While availing for leave during school hours, the student has to fill up the form above and submit it to the class signed by the class teacher.
