Job description:
1. Played key role in yield improvement activities to improve test yield.
2. Perform failure analysis to determine failure mechanism , resolve quality and yield issues by performing failure analysis to determine root cause and initiate corrective actions.
3. Verify and implement production test and debug software. Develop and maintain debug software.
4. Involve in new product transfer and provide engineering support leading to solutions.
5. Recommend test methodology and test process.
The duties include:
1. Provide drive level troubleshooting consultation.
2. Partnering/working with product group in test-related works during the product prototype stage.
3. Responsible for the continuous improvement of processes on yield, quality and reliability.
4. Collaborate with cross functional teams ensure product is released meeting the objective, schedule and regulatory requirement.
Achievements:
· Involvedin 3.5-inch 2TB and below for Desktop and Enterprise Hard Drive during the development stage in Western Digital, Lake Forest.
· Involved in the 3.5-inch 2TB HDD evaluation activities in Western Digital, Lake Forest, CA and Western Digital, Petaling Jaya. Manage to monitor and validate the pilot run and production run with new software code evaluation until the product achieves>75% product yield within the pilot run period.
Working in Petaling Jaya has been a vibe, great food, solid team, and that WD grind!
My last day at work with the team I loved the most. Huge thanks to my boss, Letchu, for the inspiring leadership you demonstrated & the example you set.
Got assigned to lead the 3.5-inch 2TB NPI project in California. Bringing my little girl along for the adventure, and thankfully, my mom’s coming too to help out!

Job description:
1. Played key role in successful product launches through innovation, assembly processes and manufacturing operations from New Product (NPI) to High Volume manufacturing (HVM).
2. Develop and used analysis tools to identify root cause within the process and develop action plans for mitigation and Corrective actionc (CA).
3. Partnering/working with product development group in test-related works during the product prototype stage.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams ensure product is released meeting the objective, schedule and regulatory requirement.
5. Improve quality or yield of the current product and monitor and analyses product performance and capability.
6. Provide solutions and improvements on production/engineering issues during the product lifetime.
The duties include:
1. Providing technical leadership to resolve instrument failures and production issues. Support and lead operational activities including test yield improvement, cost reduction, quality improvement.
2. Validate design specification and reliability of the new system for NPI.
3. Provide level troubleshooting consultation and test station maintenance.
4. Manage product Bill of Materials (BOM) and create documentation includes process and test procedure of the new product assembly and test process.
5. Conduct training and supervise MS (Manufacturing Specialist) on the production process.
6. Provide ISO9K/17K consultation.
7. Responsible for identifying, prioritizing and addressing opportunities and make recommendations and executes solutions to improve product performance, quality and reliability, productivity and cost of sales.
8. Responsible for the continuous improvement of processes on yield, quality and reliability.
9. Provide support and effective solution to customer escalation over product application and quality issues.
Achievements:
· High end probes’ assemblies’ activities from Agilent Colorado Spring, CA to Agilent Penang. Manage to transfer the process and runs in Penang for normal production within 2 month.
· An NPI (New Product Introduction) Product Engineer for Infiniimax Probes 1168A and 1169A. Focal contact for Agilent Penang production setup during the NPI. Successfully setup the production floor, conduct training and supervise MS on new packaging and testing and meet the schedule of ship release for the NPI.
Spent 4 awesome years in Penang with a sea view office, smooth toll-free drives, amazing food, chill nature, and good vibes all around!
