Vaata belongs to air and ether elements and controls blood flow, elimination of wastes, breathing and movements of thoughts or nerve impulses

Pittha

Pitha’s elemental make up is fire and water and governs metabolism. Pitha is a type of bile that secreted between the stomach and bowels. Pitha is also responsible for metabolism in the organ and tissue systems.

Kafaa

Kafaa is made up of water and earth elements and is responsible for growth and protection. The mucus lining of the stomach and chest are types of kafaa.

To balance Vaata:

  • Always keep your body warm
  • Consume food and oils, which are known to provide warmth to body such mustard and sesame seed oils, ginger pepper turmeric and garlic
  • Sweet, sour and salty foods for taming vata
  • Adequate portions of food should be consumed
  • Need to have good amount of sleep
  • Avoid light, cold, dry and spicy foods
  • Avoid too much exertion on your body
  • No alcohol

To balance Pittha:

  • Keep yourself cool
  • Sweet and cool food are good
  • Good portions of food should be consumed in regular intervals.
  • Avoid acidic food
  • No alcohol
  • Avoid hot food

To balance Kafaa:

  • Food should consume in small quantities.
  • Should eat a lot of fruits and avoid lactose products such as cheese
  • Need to exercise regularly
