The Witch Booth

'The Witch Booth' is a live, interactive performance piece that I created for the the fourth Abortion & Reproductive Justive Conference in Bangkok in February 2024.  

Participants took the quiz (see left) to determine whether or not their lives and choices would have had them condemned as witches in a different place/ time. Participants who 'failed' the quiz, and were 'condemned', were then given a 'witch card' with the story of a witch- real/ mythical/ legendary- on one side, and a stamp 'certifying' their witch status on the other. 

By attempting to reclaim the word ‘witch’ from a feminist point of view, we are taking our rightful place in the long line of historical women who have fought for our rights for centuries, in complex, furious, and imperfect ways.
