Summary

Data collection through field work and surveys and subsequent data processing, analysis, and write-up are key elements of the undergraduate curriculum in Geography and Environmental Science. The successful completion of these activities often require collaboration through groupwork. While groupwork can be beneficial for the personal development of students, it can be a source of distress for some. This study, therefore, aims to understand student attitudes and approaches towards undergraduate groupwork assessments in Geography and Environmental Science in order to address learning inequalities associated with such assessments.
