The museum is dedicated to the plant and employees of the Weaver Aircraft Company of Ohio, WACO Aircraft Company, the largest manufacturer of civil aircraft in the USA during the late 1920's and early 30's. Opened in 1997, the museum hangars are located on the Historic WACO Field, a 77 acre site featuring a 2200' runway. Maintained by WACO volunteers the museum consists of 3 buildings: a fully restored historic 1856 barn, a 7500 sq ft hangar also housing their Research Library, Classroom/Conference Room, Gift Shop and Offices, plus a 2009 built hangar housing the vintage WACO aircraft and other historical references.
