(2 sessions x 6 hours)
Successful peer support programs have highlighted the effectiveness and far-reaching positive impact of education and training for the teens. Mental health awareness, knowing how to support and respond to friends in distress, as well as coping strategies for teenagers to use in their own times of struggle, are imperative in building resilience and helping teenagers cope with life stressors.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Learn and develop effective skilled helper’s characteristics
2. Learn basic concepts and skills of counselling
3. Explore the values of empathy, compassion, and kindness
(Half-day or Full-day option available for Primary/Secondary/JC)
This workshop is designed to help students build confidence in themselves and their abilities. The workshop will comprise of several fun games and activities for the students, paired with corresponding short lecture segments. In groups, students will work together as a team to complete activities that adopt a strength-based approach, to help students focus on their strengths, positive qualities, and improve their resilience.
