In the beginning of Capstone, our group brainstormed several issues that occur in our everyday lives, along with three possible solutions. With time, we decided we wanted to create something that we as students could feel passionate about, so we decided to make the auto whiteboard cleaner because it's an issue students like us face everyday.
Procedure:
Input: Hold button down for two seconds to start stepper motor
Process: Stepper motor spins gear to move the sponge rod- that's attached to the rack- across the board. After five seconds the stepper motor will reverse and the sponge rod will move backwards, back to its original state.
Output: Board is clean before class starts!

Our automatic board cleaner will include a rack a pinion mechanism, enabling our eraser device to move across the whiteboard.

The stepper motor connects to the center of the gear which allows the gear to move.

The stepper motor was controlled by the push of a button. When the button is pushed and held down for more than two seconds than the motor will start moving.
