It turns out that I prefer to write books than edit them and get them into a publishable state. Here's a list of things I'm working at the moment (most titles are subject to change, and all covers are place holders):
Adult Christian Fiction (Romance?)
Love and Trauma - The working title for this book is mostly a joke with a friend. I'm currently working on this book, and hope to finish it by the end of the year. I've written 40,000 words towards the first draft, and I'm about at the mid point.
Adult Fantasy
0.5 Before the Breaking - Planned fourteen short prequel stories set in the Femriger. Currently about 51,000 words in first draft state, but one of the stories is not finished.
1. Fire and Shadow - Currently 132,000 words in length, this story has been through the first round of beta reading, and is a third draft. I'm relatively happy with it developmentally (although the final confrontation scene could use some work). This will need another round with betas, then line editing, copy editing, and proof reading.
2. Spirit and Sky - Currently at 132,000 words, I had a completed first draft, but then I deleted a whole chunk that I wasn't happy with (and didn't fit with the new ending I wrote for book 1). I am about half way through rewrites for the second draft, but I still have about four blank chapters to fill in at the beginning.
3. Water and Earth - I have a rough plan for this book, but I haven't got any words on the page yet.
Wanderer - I shelved this stand alone novel after losing one of my babies early in pregnancy, but I hope to come back to it some time soon. I have written 49,000 words on this and am heading into the final act.
Young Adult
1. The Wave - This science fiction/ alternate reality story is set on contemporary earth, but shape shifting aliens arrived in the year 2000, and took up residence in Antarctica. This story is a completed first draft of 93,000 words.
2. The Second Wave - I've written 12,500 words in this story, following events and the same main characters as The Wave.
3. Title TBD - I have a rough idea planned out for a third book in this series.
Apostle's Heir - I've written 26,000 words in this attempt at Christian Urban Fantasy.
White as Snow/ The Glass Box - This Snow White inspired story started out as an anthology submission. I was really happy with the 8,500 word completed story, but I wanted to do more with it, so I decided to expand it into a novel. It's currently about 61,000 words long, but I'll need to do some serious work on the third act (which I've changed half a dozen times). I'm very seriously considering leaving this as a short story.
Middle Grade
Space Explorer - Complete and edited at 30,000 words, this story just needs to go through formatting and proof reading (and cover design) before it's ready to go.
Save the Sea - Complete at 50,000 words, this story needs editing, formatting, proof reading, and cover design before it's ready to publish.
Lower Grade/ Chapter Books
Called to Galilee - Completed at 15,000 words, I am currently editing this book, and my illustrator is working on the images. I was hoping to release it before Christmas, but some time early next year is a more realistic timeline.
Tears in Gethsemane - Completed at 22,000 words, this book needs editing and illustrations.
Road to Bethlehem Education Pack - I have come up with activities for chapters one and two, and am working on activities for the rest of the chapters. I anticipate this will include colouring, puzzles, mazes, writing activities, scripture based activities, geography, history and mathematics activities.
