Self Reflection of Austin Stevens
My name is Austin Stevens. I am a 16 year old high school student. I am at the college for dual enrollment in the English 1101 class. If you see me around I'm usually in a jacket, or hoodie and probably walking with my Airpods in. I like to wear a Nike jacket, not because I'm self conscious about my body or anything, but because I like the way the jacket goes with certain pairs of the same brand Nike shoes I am usually wearing. On top of the jacket I sometimes might wear a beanie on top of my head no matter the weather. I have no reason as to why I do this but I just do it only if my hair is looking uncombed and or matted down.
I behave the same around all my friends and family, and I don't believe in putting on a whole different persona in front of different people. Around my family I typically mess around with my brothers, cousins, and conversate with my mother. When I get around my close friends and family I might talk a little differently but otherwise I still act the same, and will not change my whole attitude. Now when I'm around people I don't know or barely know it's a whole different story. I am particularly not a very shy person but, when I hardly know the person, I may not be as open as I am with people I do know. I am a good people person, but it is just awkward trying to meet new people, and introduce yourself to them.
When it comes to my classmates I am ok with conversing with them. I don't really talk to my classmates whom I don't know, or if they don't try to make an attempt to talk to me. I have no reason as to why I do this, I know some people would rather be left alone than talk to people, which is o `. If they do, I am a very chill person and will talk to them about pretty much anything.
Since this dual enrollment class is my first time in an actual college class, I do not know much about talking to professors, how they act, or how they communicate with their classes. Of course I will ask for help through email or in class, but I don't know what would be the right approach to do so.
A way that I love to represent myself is by buying myself clothes that I like. I usually shop online for most of the clothes that I like include jeans, a graphic tee shirt or jacket, and shoes that I hope match the outfit. I usually might wear skinny or slim jeans that are not too baggy, because I don't like the way baggy jeans look or how they feel to me, they look tacky in my opinion. The tee shirt I wear always has a variety of colors on it unless i'm wearing just a plain white tee. I do this because I don't like to just have plain clothes, I like to have colors that make it stand out.
These examples show just the type of person I am. I like to talk to people; unless I don't know them, I like to dress in whatever I'm comfortable in, and what I like. This is how I present myself
