What I've learned this semester

This semester in English 1101 I've learned a lot. In my life I haven't always been a big fan of writing, so I thought this class would not be very fun or enjoyable for me. This was also my first taking taking a college class, so I did not know what to expect, or how to balance regular high school, work, and a college class.

On project 1 I did not know how rhetoric affected me, but after reading the first couple chapters in "Becoming Rhetorical" I figured out. In this project I used logos or common sense by saying how I might be a little nervous to take my first college class, while still being in high school. The pier review on this project that Juan gave me also helped me a lot, because I did not realize I was using a word wrong in my paper. Projects 3, and 4 helped me develop better communication skills when I am in groups. Usually, because I am in high school when I am assigned group work either one person does most of the work, or we end up barely finishing it. Although 3 and 4 helped me realize how important it is to plan the work out ahead of time and how important it is to communicate even outside of school.
