Energy affordability is essential to household budgets and business competitiveness and the Liberals are committed to delivering a reliable and affordable energy system for all Australians.
We need to ensure that Australia has a reliable source of base load power if the Country Labor Party and the SDP want to keep shutting down coal-fired power plants.
Under Prime Minister Porriidge, the Liberals were pioneers in the legalisation of nuclear power, and if elected, will seek to once again legalise nuclear power in this country through the use of SME's.
The cost of power is simply too high, and under the SDP and Jordology's watch, it will only get higher!

In the 15 years prior to the original Carbon Tax introduction — Australia’s emissions intensity was 50% lower than expectations. In a similar circumstance where the market was naturally making the shift to cleaner production sources, the SDP passed a Carbon Tax. However, what they did not factor in the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Scheme already in place - meaning that Australians are facing double taxation.
This is just one of the many issues faced by the taxes on carbon emissions. The Liberals are committed to repealing both legislated taxes.

Our government will invest in a dedicated Natural Disaster Fund to
ensure Australia is prepared for future emergencies. This fund will provide immediate and long-term financial support to communities impacted by floods, bushfires, cyclones, and other natural disasters.
By creating a sustainable financial reserve, we ensure that when disaster strikes, there are sufficient resources to provide aid, rebuild infrastructure, and support affected Australians.
This proactive measure will reduce the financial strain on communities and the economy, ensuring swift recovery and resilience in the face of increasing environmental challenges.
Our government will streamline regulations in the energy and mining sectors by cutting unnecessary red and green tape. This will accelerate project approvals, reduce delays, and enhance productivity while ensuring environmental standards are met.
By simplifying the regulatory framework, we aim to boost investment, create jobs, and lower energy costs for Australian households and businesses.
This initiative will drive economic growth, encourage innovation in energy production, and ensure Australia remains competitive in the global resources market, all while maintaining responsible environmental stewardship.
