The literature related to improving student attendance is very clear that the most promising outcomes occur with prevention and early intervention (Kearney, 2017; Wimmer, 2013). As a result, it is essential that schools and districts interested in promoting attendance establish a School Attendance Team to develop systems, data and practices to support students across tiers.
