Purpose: Students will gain knowledge regarding the sites that are freely available to them and what they offer so that they are able to use these sites later in this class, and even after the semester ends.
Learning Objectives: To explore weather websites and become familiar with the tools and products that they offer.
Forecast models take into account the entire troposphere when running. Different models have different pros and cons. The GFS and ECMWF are global, while NAM and HRRR are regional and local. Lots of different parameters can be calculated and analyzed in these different models.
We will explore the following weather sites to see what we have access to and the products they offer:
