How to reach Atma Kutir Ashram Jyotirlinga:

The walking route shown in different internet resources is old and incorrect. This page explains correct route options for devotees coming to Atma Kutir Ashram from India and abroad.

Take a flight from from your country to DEL(Delhi) and reach Delhi Airport.
From Delhi you can take flight to Dehradun or take a Taxi instead. Atma kutir is about 275 km from Delhi Airport and takes about 6 hours by Road. Since there are few flights between Delhi to Dehradoon and costs 5000-6000 for Air journey you may decide depending on waiting time and arrival time in Delhi.
OPTION I. Flight to DED( Dehradun). Name of Airport of Dehradun is Jolly Grant Airport. Atma Kutir Ashram is about 25 kms( 25-30 minutes) from this place. From Dehradun one can hire a Taxi upto Ashram which will charge amount of Rs 1500.( updated in 2021)
Option-II:After landing at Delhi Airport hire a direct taxi for the Ashram. Delhi- Rishikesh Taxi fare is 5500-6000 Rs.
Reach to Haridwar/Rishikesh. Those coming from Train should reach Haridwar junction/ Rishikesh. From here there are 2 routes:-
Route-I: This route is open only for few days. Check up before taking this route.
Chilla Barrage Road--- Garud Chatti
Route-II: Laxman Jhula--Brahm Puri Ashram-- Garud Chatti
After Brahm Puri Ashram take right turn.
on Neelkanth Bridge Road Patna Uttarakhand GPS.
After Atma Kutir Ashram is 7 km from this turning point. You will cross Ganga River on a Steel Bridge. Take left turn immediately after crossing this bridge. Garud Chatti temple and Police check post will come. Ashram is 6 km from this place.
Following stops will come on way: Phoolchatti Ashram, Mahayana Resort, Camp Ace, Gattu Ghat cut, Atma Kutir
You will loose GPS connection after Camp Ace.
Park vehicle in Paid parking shown as P in map.

On Rishikesh- Badrinath highway 7 km after Dhunar Gaon , Take left turn on Neelkanth Bridge Road Patna Uttarakhand GPS.
After Atma Kutir Ashram is 7 km from this turning point. You will cross Ganga River on a Steel Bridge. Take left turn immediately after crossing this bridge. Garud Chatti temple and Police check post will come. Ashram is 6 km from this place.
Following stops will come on way: Phoolchatti Ashram, Mahayana Resort, Camp Ace, Gattu Ghat cut, Atma Kutir

Atma Kutir Ashram is 3 km from Amari Talli. Following stops will come on way Taliyal Gaon. -- Shiva water fall( Kalikund water Fall)/ Tea shop. After 200 meters from water fall take Route 1 on left side. Park vehicle in Paid parking shown as P in map.
