Biography of Rahi Baba(Guruji)
Rahi Baba (referred here in as Guruji) was born on 12 Feb 1952 in a small village of Yamkeshwar ( Uttarakhand, India). Name of Rahi Baba as per school records is Sh. Mahaveer Prasad Kandwal.
After completing his basic school education he worked at various places like Ranchi, Yamuna Nagar, Uttarakhand. In addition to serving in some organization he was involved in women empowerment and other social reforms.
He also served as Mahant( Head Priest) in Chandi Devi Temple for 8 years. He as popularly known as Mama ji in Chandi Devi. His nature was very different from other priests as he believed in true pooja of deity. On one day he developed disengagement from the Sansaar and decided to take vairagya.
Mahavatar Baba( referred here in as Guru Maharaj) is Guru of Rahi Baba.
Guruji did rigid sadhana in the caves of the Himalayan ranges for several years; after which he was blessed by Guru Maharaj. For many years Guru Maharaj kept on coming and going in body of Guruji and guiding him. One day Guru Maharaaj gave inspiration to Rahi Baba to settle at a place on manikoot hill and do future sadhana. Interestingly the place was previously a cursed land( Shaapit Bhumi) and villagers donated the place to Guruji for running the Ashram. Within few years that barren land was converted into fertile and beautiful place.

अपनी बुनियादी स्कूली शिक्षा पूरी करने के बाद उन्होंने रांची, यमुना नगर, उत्तराखंड जैसे विभिन्न स्थानों पर काम किया। कुछ संगठन में सेवा देने के अलावा वे महिला सशक्तिकरण और अन्य सामाजिक सुधारों में भी शामिल थे।
उन्होंने 8 वर्षों तक चंडी देवी मंदिर में महंत (प्रधान पुजारी) के रूप में भी कार्य किया। उन्हें चंडी देवी में मामा जी के नाम से जाना जाता है। उनका स्वभाव अन्य पुजारियों से बहुत अलग था क्योंकि वे देवता की सच्ची पूजा में विश्वास करते थे। एक दिन उन्होंने संसार से वियोग विकसित किया और वैराग्य लेने का फैसला किया।
महावतार बाबा (यहां गुरु महाराज के रूप में संदर्भित) राही बाबा के गुरु हैं।
गुरुजी ने कई वर्षों तक हिमालय पर्वतमाला की गुफाओं में कठोर साधना की; जिसके बाद उन्हें गुरु महाराज ने आशीर्वाद दिया। कई वर्षों तक गुरु महाराज गुरुजी के शरीर में आते-जाते रहे और उनका मार्गदर्शन करते रहे। एक दिन गुरु महाराज ने राही बाबा को मणिकूट पहाड़ी पर एक स्थान पर बसने और भविष्य की साधना करने की प्रेरणा दी। दिलचस्प बात यह है कि यह जगह पहले एक शापित भूमि (शापित भूमि) थी और ग्रामीणों ने आश्रम चलाने के लिए गुरुजी को जगह दान कर दी थी। कुछ ही वर्षों में वह बंजर भूमि उपजाऊ और सुन्दर स्थान में परिवर्तित हो गई।
