What is an IB Education?

Admissions Policy:

Students are eligible to apply for the IB MYP and DP/CP Programmes based on the following criteria:

  • Students must have a 3.0 GPA between the 4th quarter of grade 7 and the first two quarters of grade 8 (for grade 9 admission). Students who meet eligibility criteria are then entered into the Choice Lottery.

  • Students not initially selected by the lottery and those that submit their application after the initial deadline may be placed on a waiting list. We accept waitlisted students until the week before school starts.

  • We accept applications for students entering 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. As DP and CP are two year programmes, Grade 12 students can only be admitted if they are coming from a DP/CP Programme, and we can continue their coursework, maintaining their eligibility for the Diploma/Certificate.

The IB Learner Profile

The learner profile describes a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success. They imply a commitment to help all members of the school community learn to respect themselves, others and the world around them. The learner profile puts our students at the centre of everything we do. It is the IB mission statement translated into a set of learning outcomes for the 21st century. The ten aspirational qualities of the learner profile inspire and motivate our work, keeping us focused on goals that go far beyond academic success and include the development of personal qualities that support the pursuit of personal happiness and global consciousness.
