Astrum Computing, LLC ("Astrum," "we," "us") provides iCam Scan. This policy explains how the app handles information. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@astrumcomputing.com.
iCam Scan stores scanned pages, imported files, recognized text, edits, signatures, redaction regions, and document metadata in its private app storage on your device. The app uses Apple frameworks to recognize text and create PDFs. Astrum does not receive those documents for scanning, OCR, editing, or export. When you export or share a file, the destination you choose controls its copy.
If you enable Sync with iCloud, document packages are copied to the app's private iCloud Drive container under your Apple Account. Apple operates iCloud under your account settings and its own terms. Turning sync off stops future synchronization but does not automatically delete existing local, iCloud, other-device, or backup copies. Conflicting edits may create a separate conflict copy.
A source document remains in your library after you export a redacted copy unless you delete it. Temporary export files and edit rollback copies are removed after use or during recovery. Passwords for protected PDF exports are used for the export session and are not stored by iCam Scan.
If you enable App Lock, iCam Scan stores a salted passcode derivation and throttling state in Apple Keychain rather than your passcode. If you choose Face ID, Touch ID, or device authentication, Apple returns an authentication result; the app does not receive biometric templates or your device passcode.
Share App Analytics & Diagnostics is off by default. If you enable it, Firebase Analytics may receive app and feature-use events, and Firebase Crashlytics may receive crash and diagnostic information. The app does not include document images, recognized document text, filenames, app-lock passcodes, export passwords, or document identifiers in its analytics event parameters. You can turn collection off for future events in iCam Scan Settings.
Firebase Remote Config retrieves product settings and may process technical or installation information needed to provide that service. If you choose Email Feedback, the app opens a message for you to review and send. Astrum receives the message and details you include only after you send it. With Analytics & Diagnostics enabled, the app may separately record selected feedback categories without your typed feedback details.
Some versions of iCam Scan may include Google ad delivery and consent services. If ads are shown, Google may process device, advertising, and consent information under its own policies. Where an Ad Privacy Choices control is available in Settings, you can use it to change the applicable consent choice.
Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat processes purchase and subscription information, an app-user identifier, and technical request data to manage paid access. Astrum does not receive full payment-card details from Apple or RevenueCat.
Depending on the features you use, Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may process data under their own privacy terms and in countries where they operate. Astrum does not sell your document content or use it for targeted advertising.
Documents stored on your device remain until you delete them or remove the app, subject to operating-system backups. Private iCloud copies, conflict copies, offline-device copies, shared exports, and Apple-managed backups may require separate action. Purchase records and service diagnostics follow the applicable provider's retention policies and legal obligations. Astrum keeps support messages as long as needed to respond, maintain security, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.
You can keep documents local by leaving iCloud sync off, change Analytics & Diagnostics in Settings, delete documents and conflict copies in the app, manage iCloud data under your Apple Account, and manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store account. To request access, correction, or deletion of information controlled by Astrum, contact support@astrumcomputing.com. We may need reasonable information to find and verify your request. Provider-managed records may require a request to the provider.
The app uses Apple sandbox, Keychain, and iCloud protections. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. We may update this policy when the app or its services change and will revise the effective date.
