Correct data from infrastructure projects can inform the operations and maintenance team for improved management of the built environment due to accurate and consistent information for the decision making process.
BIM provides the opportunity to serve both as an organisational planning tool and a technical data repository tool that can be utilised in infrastructure project for asset management activities.
The framework identifies relevant roles and suggests action items that allows BIM as a collaborative platform from the contractor's viewpoint to implement it for asset data collection across the execution of the infrastructure project.
Moving forward, the action items needs input and feedback from subject matter experts in the area of asset management and BIM for revision as well as a use case in an actual infrastructure project for validation and updates to the framework.
