Notable Ashworths

The first Ashworth, the founder of the family, as far as any living Ashworth knows. Cyrus did nothing more than undergo one of the most difficult parts of life; breaking away from his family and building is own, creating a legacy that would go on for many generations. There is not much known about the Ashworth family before Cyrus, or even if 'Ashworth' was his surname at birth, but going forward the history of the Ashworth family is known far and wide among Wizard and Muggle kind...

Aria was utterly and completely devoted to her husband Cyrus, there was nothing that she would not do to ensure his position, power and legacy.  She gave her life to ensure that the Ashworth name would become one that would be marked down in the books of Magical history. Using her renowned skills at wandwork and stealth, she singlehandedly took out any competition to the families claims and power. She was finally hunted down and tried for murder, theift, heresy. With her dying breath she uttered words that would remain with Ashworths many generations after her, words that would become the family moto.  Pede Poena Claudo. Punishment comes limping. Retribution comes slowly, but surely.

Witches and wizards have and use wands, no secret there to others of their kind, however.. Leander decided to experiment, surely there was more you could do with a wand? So, after many attempts and fails, Leander finally managed to successfully store his wand in the hilt of a sword, thus giving himself two weapons in one, a trick he shared with no one. 

A Professor in his younger years, Harry eventually left his dream job of teaching to travel the Wizarding world. He reached out to as many small magical communities as he could find, offering them his teachings in exchange for their own knowledge and perhaps some treasure. It was then that the many vaults on the Ashworth Estate went from being quite packed to nearly overflowing, prompting the family to add a few new vaults. Some of the so called treasures that were acquired by the ex Professor in some cases still have yet to be examined... 

Hester believed that the fountain of Youth was found in the life's blood of others, fascinated by vampires, and Idolizing the late Countess Bathory,  Hester spent her life developing a cream for her personal use, that would ensure that she looked young forever, the primary ingredient was the hearts blood of the innocent. Since killing a pureblood was in thinkable, Her primary targets were muggles and muggle borns, though she did occasionally allow herself the treat of a half-blood, to her the magical ability would only serve to preserve her longer.  Hester disappeared from her home one night, deserting her family and twin brother, the silken parchment her recipe was on found burned, No one has yet to find her body. 

Raised and known as one of the sweetest, kindest and most considerate Ashworths, no one thought for a single second that Alston would grow to be a cold, brutal and violent wizard, one able and willing to perform some of the most horrific magic on Muggles and fellow Witches and Wizards. It's enough to make many wonder what, or who, got to the happy child? 

Desmona Hera Ashworth: Known for her extensive testing of different potions, Desmona was one of the brightest witches of her age, dark but very knowledgeable.  Her testing however, especially the testing of potions on muggles, led to her being burned at the stake by muggles for witchcraft. 

Known for his study and creation of various invisibility potions. Side effects before the final product often times were an invisible limb. When the potion began to become harmful to witches and wizards by the means of making internal organs seemingly disappear completely, any further work on it was stalled . . . as far as anyone knew. Apart from his creations, Ignatious was the first Ashworth of the lot to travel to different country's to find and recover dark items for the Ashworth Collection.. 

Dirt and blood. Many Ashworths were remembered for unique or random things, but never dirt and blood, but that was exactly how Raulin was remembered. As one of the most skilled and deadly werewolf hunters of his time, he was often seen covered in dirt from his hunts, and the blood of his catches. 

Witch hunts were a thing of the past, but Eliza still wanted to return the favor by hunting down muggles and setting them a blaze. When it turned out that burning muggles was not enough, she set out to target towns, and many fell from her fiery wrath. 

James seems to have walked right out of his portrait... there must be some part of his story he does not want to share. 

It's not common to jump outside of the traditions of the Ashworth family. That is why Janus did so, with both feet! Janus was raised to become one of the next Protectors for the Heir of the Ashworth dynasty and wealth, but decided he was more into flying. A good thing too, since he went flying out a window when he announced this to his father... 

The Ashworth family put out many Slytherins throughout the years, dotted with some Ravenclaws, and this dot was no exception. Jamison was naturally at the top of his class, earning the best grades and compliments from the professors, claiming him to be the next big thing in the Wizarding world, his inventions could one day be legendary. Graduation past, Jamison did a complete 180 turn on his allies and rather then offer his inventions to good, he added a dark twist to all of his creations, some built to attack Muggle Borns, some to forcibly test the blood of Pure Blooded wizards, and many more... 

Agatha is known within the Ashworth family for her mischievous ways while working as a Ministry employee as an Obliviator. Often times while on the job she would insert quite odd thoughts into the minds of the muggles. Who needs an Obliviator when you have a puppeteer? 

One of the least violent of all of the Ashworths, Lilith had always been known and remembered for her exceptional grades across the board. There was not a single class in school that she did not excel at, and out side of school there was not a single task of challenge that she could not overcome, and eventually she made it all the way up to under sectary to the Minister. 

Don't let those closed eyes fool you.. ever. Grandma Ashworth, one of the darkest, yet most secretive witches of the Ashworth family was also quite violent, many nights would see Wizarding folk and muggles alike running from her clutches, attempting to escape the aged woman and her spell experimentation, only to disappear without a trace. 

Dean learned the hard way that being the younger brother to an heir can be either exciting, or it could leave you left in the dust. When his brother Jaron went on to run the family without him at his side, Dean realized quite quickly he would need to become something, someone, on his own. Opening his own wandshop Dean now sells dark and twisted wands to the shady characters of the Wizarding world. On the front though, it is a most upstanding location to buy wands!
