MISC: Projects done privately with Arjun Suresh in order to evaluate our own theories. Both gave negative results but we did learn more on Engineering in the process.

1. Experimental Motor Rig
Tried experimenting with a new dc motor design based on my personal studies of the homopolar motor introduced by Michael Faraday in 1821 at the Royal Institution in London. Developed the frames that support the neodymium magnets using a solid rod of steel processed in a lathe and milling machine. However, failed to get it to spin. Perhaps bending of the magnetic field around the copper wires due to the steel frames (houses the ring magnets) caused this. Links: Experimental Motor Rig Solidworks
2. Experimental Gyroscope Rig
An independent experiment performed to verify professor Eric Laithwaite’s claims regarding gyroscopes. Was able to create the required apparatus by salvaging parts from recycled hard drives, servo motors and linear ball bearing based rails. Used an Arduino microcontroller and tv remote for all the required control purposes. Failed to perceive any anomalies as per the claims. Links: Gyroscope Rig PDF, Gyroscope Lecture
