Recommendations:
List of national museums, some of them in Lisbon or nearby, where you can book ahead the tickets for the days you wish to visit (booking well ahead is highly recommended, as tickets will sell out for most of them during high season): Museus e Monumentos de Portugal
Most monuments and museums will have long queues for entry. You may wish to pay a little extra and join tours with priority entrance included. You can have suggestions for all tours at sites like Viator or GetYourGuide , or others. E.g., if you go to Sintra on your own, you will only be able to see the palaces and castles from the outside, tickets will most probably be all pre-booked ahead. The same applies to Jerónimos Monastery at Belém.
