People ignore design that ignores people. In my academic and professional career thus far, users have always been my creative driver. While user-centered design methods can range from superficial consultation to deep participation, I strongly believe that users must be involved one way or another in the creative process. After all, design is never finished until somebody is actually using it.
This user-centric ethos has become ingrained, not just from my rich experiences designing award-winning digital products for clients, but also from my own interactions with products we love so much. UI innovations, such as responsive layers and buttonless UI, break away from the spell of feature creep and seek to increase user engagement from first principles.
