Ashleen Castillo Cruz is an entrepreneur, designer, artist, and educator with ten years of experience in product design and development in the United States and Latin America, focused on textiles and community work. Creating has always been her passion, which motivated her to study fashion design in Puerto Rico and Philadelphia. During her studies at Moore College of Art and Design, she had the opportunity to develop and present her work on platforms such as New York Fashion Week and Philly Fashion Week 2019. Castillo was awarded the Adrienne Vittadini ‘66 Award for Best Ready-to-wear Collection and Best Craftsmanship Award for her thesis collection De-Transformación. Moved by her passion for identity through clothing, she had the opportunity to intern in Guatemala, working with Weaver’s cooperative Trama Textiles located in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Thanks to this experience, she discovered her passion and social commitment.
