Hello! I'm Ashley-Rachel Jaramillo (I go by Ash), and I recently completed my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an Emphasis in Christian Counseling at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. I also earned my undergraduate degree from GCU in Early Childhood Education and Psychology, after which I became a kindergarten teacher and absolutely fell in love with helping children achieve personal goals and navigate the ups and downs of life. In addition to being a teacher, I have also worked as an Au Pair for children in China and Poland, teaching them English and generally being a very silly, fun, and responsible grown-up.
My experience with children has given me a passion for helping them thrive amid change and/or trauma. I also work with adolescents, college students, families, and individual adults using approaches from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical-Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I believe that healing occurs when the whole person is considered- body, mind, and soul, as well as social and environmental factors. For this reason, I am excited about integrating faith, Scripture, and prayer into sessions for those who desire it. I am humbled and honored to have worked under the supervision of Dr. Branton at Arizona Professional Counseling Associates for my counseling internship and look forward to working with my future clients as a Licensed Associate Counselor!
