Project 2.7 Puzzle Cube - שני לב 'Shnei Lev':
In this project, our task was to design, model, and create a prototype desk novelty puzzle cube from excess scrap wood. We were limited to 27 individual 1 inch by 1 inch cubes in order to create 5 different pieces with at least two interlocking pieces in the design. Additionally, we were expected to market the cube in some fashion using color schemes or shapes. I chose to decorate my cube colorfully for shelf appeal and came up with a marketing tactic in which each puzzle cube set could spell out a phrase using the shape of the individual pieces. The project instructions as well as my Autodesk Inventor model images, final product images and marketing prototype can be found to the right (or below on a mobile device).
Entrepreneur Project 2017/2018:
Problem Description
Students in the arts lack the extensive resources and educational infrastructure necessary to fully develop their artistic skills. Currently, there is no well-defined path or route of study for high school students interested in digital and performing arts. While some secondary educational institutions such as Dublin High School have implemented programs such as the Engineering & Design Academy as well as the Biomedical Academy, fields in the arts are specialized and require individualized curriculum for each student.
Solution Idea
The solution to the given problem is a centralized secondary educational institution with a focus in the arts and an individualized study program to develop each student's artistic voice. While there may be future plans to create an Arts Academy at Dublin High School and other similar institutions in the Greater Bay Area, there is a more comprehensive solution than a certificate diploma available to those in industry. The Academy will be located in a single large complex that will contain all of the required spaces and and equipment necessary for all forms of digital and performing arts. Some features of the space will be performance theaters, screening theaters, digital art studios, film studios, post-production studios, foley studios, performer rehearsal spaces, and much more. With the given period of time, I suspect that I will be able to complete a model of the complex as a whole as well as designs for a number of the studios/spaces within the complex. To accomplish this prototype goal, I will use Autodesk Inventor with possible 3D printing of final models.
