Influential Leaders
- Bobby from Denver Rescue Mission
- First career as a high-end chef
- His mother developed cancer, which is when he decided to move to Colorado to be close to her
- After his mother's passing, Bobby decided to he wanted to do something more with his life
- Allan and Gloria from Food Bank of the Rockies
- Have been volunteering there for 3 years
- Very involved and knowledgeable within their community
- Millard & Linda Fuller: founders of Habitat for Humanity
- Became millionaires before the age of 30.
- Abandoned their extravagant lifestyle to help others.
What We Learned About Leadership:
- Leadership starts out with a passion and changes are made through actions.
- A leader does not always have to be a single person - a group can act together as a leader.
- It's okay to not be a leader. (Leaders need followers!)
- Leaders have to be adaptable and overcome obstacles.
How can we apply it to our college life:
- Run for a government position in a student organization, club, Greek life.
- Take on a larger role in your work place.
- Stand up for others, stand up for what you believe in, be an example for others.
- Volunteering within your community
- Being an active citizen!
